Join us for the CGMC Summer Conference!
The Greater Minnesota Partnership’s sister organization, the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, is still accepting registrations for its annual Summer Conference!
In conjunction with the conference, the GMNP will be holding its first annual membership meeting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20 in the Windsor I room at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester (a meeting agenda is attached). The meeting is free and open to all GMNP members.
GMNP members are encouraged to stay for the CGMC Summer Conference, which kicks off at 2 p.m. on Aug. 20. We have a great conference planned, with lots of informational sessions as well as chances to socialize with other community leaders and explore unique facilities in Rochester. Programming will include a panel discussion on the future of broadband in rural communities; a panel on how the city of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic have included community engagement in the Destination Medical Center planning and development; a workshop on tools communities can use to address the challenges and opportunities that arise as rural communities become more racially and ethnically diverse; options to tour facilities like the Mayo Clinic, U of M-Rochester, the Rochester Art Center and the Minnesota BioBusiness Center; an awards dinner honoring legislators, city officials and others who worked especially hard to advance Greater Minnesota priorities during the 2014 legislative session; and much more!
We will also be adding some additional programming to fill the time that had been slotted for the gubernatorial forum (which we are working with the candidates’ campaigns to reschedule for another date). We are tentatively planning to add sessions on transportation and energy that we expect attendees will find useful and informative.
