Join us March 16 for Legislative Action Day!

GMNP members are invited to join our sister organization, the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, in an its annual Legislative Action Day on Wednesday, March 16.

The daylong event will kick off at the Flaherty & Hood office in St. Paul with a legislative update in the morning, where CGMC and GMNP staff will provide information on key legislative issues affecting Greater Minnesota such as Local Government Aid, workforce housing, transportation, infrastructure and environmental regulations. This will be followed by lunch with a speaker (both Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk and House Speaker Kurt Daudt have been invited). Attendees will then spend the afternoon meeting with their legislators at the House and Senate offices (attendees should make their own appointments for meetings with legislators between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.). The event concludes with a legislative reception and dinner at Mancini’s Char House & Lounge that evening.

Legislative Action Day is always a great opportunity to build connections between local elected officials, community and business leaders, and legislators and to advocate for the priorities of Greater Minnesota cities and businesses. To RVSP, please fill out this registration form and email it to RSVP@flaherty-hood.com or mail it to the listed address. Please RSVP by March 2.

For those who want to spend the night in St. Paul, the CGMC has reserved a limited number of rooms at the Best Western Plus Capitol Ridge (formerly the Kelly Inn) for the nights of March 15 and March 16 at a cost of $139 (plus tax) per night. The block is reserved for the CGMC until Feb. 15; GMNP members are welcome to reserve a room under the block. Members are encouraged to book their rooms early, as other events in St. Paul that week may make it difficult to find a hotel room on short notice. Call the hotel at 651-227-8711 to make a reservation.

If you have any questions about Legislative Action Day, please contact Julie Liew at jlliew@flaherty-hood.com or 651-259-1917.

We hope to see you there!
