Join us for Legislative Action Day!
As in past years, all GMNP members are once again invited to participate in the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities’ annual Legislative Action Day. It will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the newly renovated conference space at the Best Western Plus Capitol Ridge (formerly the Kelly Inn) in St. Paul, located one block from the State Office Building. (For those who have attended Legislative Action Day before, please note that this year’s event is being held at a new location).
Legislative Action Day is always a great opportunity to build connections between local officials, economic development leaders and legislators and advocate for the priorities of Greater Minnesota communities and businesses. To attend, please fill out this registration form and email, fax or mail it to the listed contact information. Please RSVP by Jan. 18.
The day will kick off with a brief legislative update in the morning followed by lunch featuring a legislative panel discussion (Gov. Dayton, Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk, House Speaker Kurt Daudt and House Minority Leader Melissa Hortman have all been invited to participate). Attendees will then spend the afternoon meeting with their legislators at the House and Senate offices (attendees should make their own appointments for meetings with legislators between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. that day). The daylong event concludes with a legislative reception and dinner at Mancini’s Char House & Lounge that evening.
