Action Alert – Ask your legislators to support key legislation to bring economic growth to Greater Minnesota
Yesterday, Greater Minnesota legislators received this letter about GMNP-supported economic development legislation. We encourage you to read the letter to learn more about the main pieces of legislation we are working on this session.
Three of these bills — the GMNP’s workforce housing tax credit bill, a bill that provides funding for the Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure (BDPI) Grant Program, and a bill that makes some key improvements to the Greater Minnesota Internship Tax Credit program — are scheduled for their first hearing in the House this week.
Action – Legislators need to hear from YOU!
It is critical that GMNP members and their affiliates call or email their House and Senate members and urge them to support and advocate for the bills outlined in the GMNP letter:
- HF1020/SF785 – Workforce housing tax credit
- HF1019/SF783 – Improvements to the Greater Minnesota Business Expansion Program
- HF653/SF391 – $15M bonding request for the BDPI program
- HF1018/SF784 – “Making Economic Development Work for Greater MN” bill (see the letter to legislators for details on the key components of this bill)
In addition to requesting their support, ask your legislators to sign on as co-authors to these bills, if they haven’t already done so.

Spread the Word
This type of advocacy is very effective! Please share this email with your members, boards and key staff and ask them to call or email their legislators as well.
