Does a shortage of childcare options hamper economic growth in your community?

The issue of childcare is increasingly being discussed as it relates to economic and community development, especially in Greater Minnesota. The GMNP Board of Directors has had the issue on our radar for the last few years, but we have not yet developed a clear policy objective in this important area.

At the GMNP’s annual meeting in August, it was suggested that the GMNP hold a conference call with members and other interested stakeholders in order to better understand the issue and how it can have different impacts in different communities and begin to shape possible action. This call has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31. If you are interested in participating, please contact Julie Liew at for call-in information.
