In 2021, the Greater Minnesota Partnership successfully secured a tax exemption of up to $150,000 in property value for Main Street businesses, and continues to advocate for the use of similar tax incentives as a method of supporting business and economic growth.

The GMNP works closely with the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) to support protecting and maintaining the state Local Government Aid (LGA) program. The LGA program helps ensure that all citizens and businesses throughout Minnesota have access to the core municipal services they need without paying exorbitant property taxes. In partnership with the CGMC, the Greater Minnesota Partnership fights to secure investments in LGA that will continue to meet the needs of communities across the state.
